Nashville Bound!

…or should I say Nashvegas? But really, what does it mean? Just out of curiousity, where does it come from?  Am I stirring some kind of a pot by writing about it?  Probably not, and I shouldn’t get too excited, but either way, I am IN NASHVILLE.

The last time I was here was for a lacrosse tournament my freshman or sophomore year of college, and before that, for a pre-college tour of Vanderbilt.  This time, I was lucky enough to enjoy the wedding of two friends and wonderful musicians, Mary Jennings and Dave Felipe (see image below for some of the festivities).

Now, it’s time to focus on music.  I started trying to figure out how to work the playing music thing in Nashville, though I’m definitely aware that it’s all around.  However, where do I go to listen?  Where might I be able to play?  Though those questions might not be fully answered by the time I head back to New York on Friday, I’m at least on my way to discovering the answers.  Playing a short set tonight at the downtown Hotel Indigo, and playing the 50 Days of Music at the Aloft Hotel in Cool Springs on Thursday.  Going to try to bounce around to some music venues tonight as well as the rest of the week to squeeze in as much Nashville singer-songwriter pop as possible.
