Matt Sucich.
Yup, that’s right, he has definitely earned himself a post. Matt was kind enough to include me in booking a show at All Asia in Cambridge, Mass this past Thursday night. Not only did he include me, but he completely crushed my attempts to bring anyone through the door, and introduced me to a bunch of new people that night. I’m sure you’ve seen me posting about him and his music, but I have a few things worth mentioning, relatively quickly. Just throwing ‘em out there.
- He just put out a debut album that absolutely rocks… check it out at http://music.esmatteo.com/
- He has a sweet website you can totally explore… http://www.esmatteo.com
- He is a photoshop artisan and idea-maker-into-reality-man (see flier above for 7/7 at 7).
- He says witty things on twitter (sometimes). (kidding, he usually does). @esmatteo if you want to see for yourselves.
- He is on Pandora, woo!!!! I haven’t figured out how to find him yet though, but try searching him and see!
So… the plug? Yes, there is one. We’re playing a show together on July 7th, 2011 at 7pm at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2. Come hang out and meet him and hear his music if you haven’t already!! (if you miss this one because you happen to live in Philly, we happen to be playing there July 12th at the Hard Rock Cafe :))
One last thanks goes out to John Sucich for living in Boston and bringing a crowd out to the All Asia show. Check out his sports-related blog here: http://www.realclearsports.com/blognetwork/200_miles_from_the_citi/
If you happen to still be reading, which I hope you are, you’re going to get another story. About 50 minutes (I think) into the trip to Cambridge, in absolutely miserable weather, torrential downpour, driving along the Merritt parkway, we abruptly encounter absolutely no oncoming traffic. For a second I think Matt and I looked at each other like what the… and then immediately found our answer. A giant tree had fallen across the parkway… and there were headlights sticking out from underneath the tree. People were running over from both sides of the highway to help, and though I almost immediately was overwhelmed with the graveness of the situation, Matt’s head was clear. He lowered down the window, in the pouring rain, and asked a man if they needed help. The man told Matt that yes, absolutely, they could use the help, and without hesitation, Matt pulled the car over and ran out to see if he could do anything. http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Massachusetts-man-killed-by-fallen-tree-on-1437252.php . I don’t know what else to say, hope he’s not mad at me for mentioning that.
